FLOATING PRODUCTION and STORAGE SYSTEMS

Lamnalco has been providing specialist marine equipment and highly trained personnel in support of the floating terminals industry since the early 1970’s. We have established an international reputation for innovation in design and operation of vessels specifically tailored to the needs of the floating terminals business as well as the specific challenges posed by each new theatre of operation.

We continue to invest and partner with the leading players in the business, through participation in industry research and development initiatives and workshops. Offshore oil production accounts for a larger percentage of worldwide oil production than at any other time in history and the frontiers are moving invariably into deep water. In collaboration with leading designers we have begun to address this challenge.

Lamnalco has positioned itself to be the leading provider of marine support to the rapidly expanding FPSO fleet and have moved a step closer with the introduction of the Azimuth Production Support (APS) vessel; the next generation of offshore terminal tug designed to meet the demands of operating in more severe weather at future offshore deepwater developments.

With an overall length of 53 metres; free-running speed of over 14 knots; 250 m2 of clear deck area; and a nominal bollard pull rating of 95 tonnes ahead and 90 tonnes astern, via twin azimuth stern drives, it combines functionality, performance and flexibility that can be further tailored to the clients needs.

Additional features include high performance electro-hydraulic winches fore and aft; hose handling and hose maintenance provision; first rate fire-fighting and oil pollution response capability; the option of dynamic positioning (DP2) for the likes of ROV work and a fully integrated or containerised dive spread for underwater services.

With a powerful winch forward, fully azimuthing twin stern drives and a powerful bow thruster, the APS is exceptionally manoeuvrable - able to provide tow back and ship assist to visiting export tankers “over the bow” - resulting in a safer working environment on board and enhanced station and sea-keeping. The aft deck, since it is not exposed to the prevailing wind and waves during tow-back, provides greater security for deck cargo, equipment and personnel. With a double drum waterfall winch aft the APS can also provide powerful aft towing and anchor handling capability (stern roller fitted) when operated in tractor mode.

The APS follows in the footsteps of Lamnalco’s highly successful “C” Class Conventional Production Support (CPS) vessel which is currently in service with BP, Exxonmobil and MODEC in both West Africa and Eastern Europe.

Lamnalco provides safe, reliable and customised marine support solutions to the worldwide FPSO market.
