Lamnalco Limited was formed to operate the Jebel Dhanna Oil Terminal for the Abu Dhabi Petroleum Company (ADPC), from its opening in 1963.

In 1979, The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) formed a new joint venture company with LAMNALCO for the management, operation and maintenance of the ports and terminals of Jebel Dhanna and Ruwais, in addition to all other oil and gas ports, harbours or terminals which may be decreed in that Emirate. This joint venture, the The Abu Dhabi Petroleum Ports Operating Company (IRSHAD), continues to operate all of Abu Dhabi's Petroleum ports, harbours and terminals.

For 40 years Lamnalco has also supplied vessels, pilots, marine, logistics and diving services to ports, harbours and oil terminals at 25 locations worldwide.
