Lamnalco Australia Celebrates second long term FPSO Support Award

Lamnalco commits fourth speculative M-Class vessel for FPSO support.

Lamnalco signed its second long term contract for the provision of FPSO marine support services in Australia for Apache on 12th March 2009. The five year contract to provide a proprietary designed M-Class vessel, Lamnalco Mallard, to provide specialist Offtake Support/ Supply Vessel (OSV) for the Van Gogh development offshore Western Australia. The M-Class vessel concept is already providing FPSO support services in West Africa; two of these vessels are contracted long-term to Total in support of the massive Dalia and Girassol FPSOs in offshore waters off Angola; another is supporting the Akpo FPSO for Total offshore Nigeria; and another vessel is contracted long term to a Chevron affiliate in Nigeria in support of the world’s largest FPSO in terms of production and storage capacity, the Agbami FPSO.

The M-Class provides berthing assistance during offloading operations, provision of field supply for the FPSO during normal operations, fire fighting, pollution control, maintenance and other ancillary duties. Additionally the M-Class has been utilised as a platform for Lamnalco’s IMCA diving and ROV support services to complete the full spectrum of marine support services at deepwater floating production facilities.

The FPSO, owned and operated by Prosafe Production Services, was named as the Ningaloo Vision, to reflect the Van Gogh development’s geographical location 45km north of the iconic Ningaloo Reef. The Ningaloo Vision is a 244 metre long, 102,000 dwt tanker with a storage capacity of 620,000 barrels, and capable of producing up to 150,000 barrels per day will be located in deep water approximately 50km north of Exmouth, in approximately 380m of water. Production is scheduled to commence in Q4 2009. Supply operations will be undertaken from King Bay Supply Base located in Dampier.

This long term contract continues Lamnalco’s growth into Australia’s burgeoning oil and gas market. As a global leader in the provision of marine support services, Lamnalco will continue its focus on the developing oil and gas export infrastructure in Australia and delivering its marine support solutions in a safe, reliable and cost effective manner.
